We have five unique cottages here at Volcano Rainforest Retreat, and no two are alike. Each has its own personality, its own perks, and its own way of wrapping you in the magic of Volcano. Here’s your guide to finding your perfect match.
Bamboo Guest House – Our Most Private Escape
If seclusion is what you’re seeking, the Bamboo Guest House is your answer. Tucked into the most private location on the property, this cottage is ideal for guests who want to truly disappear into the rainforest.

- Private Japanese soaking tub
- Full kitchen for cooking your own meals
- Can accommodate extra guests with a futon couch and twin-sized floor futons
Best for: Couples or solo travelers craving deep privacy, or small groups who want to self-cater and settle in for a longer stay.
Skylight House – The Grand Retreat
The Skylight House is our largest cottage and the most expansive experience we offer. If you love outdoor living, the generous covered lanai here gives you more sheltered outdoor space than any other cottage on the property.

- Full kitchen
- Private Japanese soaking tub
- Second outdoor shower
- Can accommodate extra guests with a pull-out sofa couch and twin-sized floor futons
Best for: Those who want room to spread out, entertain, or simply live large while surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest. Great for families or groups.
Guest Cottage – Charming Loft Living
The Guest Cottage offers something no other cottage does: a dreamy upstairs sleeping loft with a queen bed. Waking up tucked into the treetop level of your own cottage is a special kind of magic.

- Full kitchen
- Shared access to a full-size Jacuzzi
- Can accommodate extra guests with a futon couch and twin-sized floor futons
Best for: Romantics who love quirky, cozy architecture and don’t mind sharing Jacuzzi access with the Forest House guests next door.
Forest House – Simple & Serene (2 Guests Max)
The Forest House is designed for two. It’s a more intimate, simplified experience – perfect for couples who want the essentials done beautifully without the extras.
Highlights:
- Maximum 2 guests
- Kitchenette (no stove/oven)
- Shared access to a full-size Jacuzzi
Best for: Couples looking for a cozy, affordable getaway with Jacuzzi access and a peaceful forest setting.

Sanctuary Cottage – Outdoor Immersion (2 Guests Max)
True to its name, the Sanctuary Cottage is a pure retreat for those who want to live close to the land. This intimate cottage is bathed in the outdoors – the only bathing option is the outdoor shower, making it a truly immersive rainforest experience.

- Maximum 2 guests
- Private Japanese soaking tub
- Outdoor shower only (no indoor shower)
- Kitchenette (no stove/oven)
Best for: Adventurous souls and nature lovers who relish the idea of showering outdoors and soaking in a private tub surrounded by the sounds of the forest. A uniquely intimate, back-to-nature experience.
