Volcano Rainforest Retreat Bed & Breakfast values the needs of all guests with respect and consideration for their individual abilities. We strive to help guests understand the uniqueness of this property.
Our property is exempt from the American Disabilities Act (ADA), because the establishment is located within a facility that contains not more than five rooms for rent or hire and that is occupied by the proprietor of the establishment as their residence. (5 U.S.C. 301; 28 U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 12186(b). § 36.104 Definitions).
Volcano Rainforest Retreat does not offer any handicap accessible accommodations because they are situated within and surrounded by a Hawaiian rainforest with uneven, natural terrain that retains the authentic topography of the volcanic land with the indigenous trees and plants of the native forest.
The facilities on the grounds include gravel-parking areas and are connected by narrow gravel paths that wind through the forested property. Some accommodations have entrance steps. Some guests with mobility issues may find access challenging in this rainforest environment.

Our site was designed to meet the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA), as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act, (“ADA”).
Our reservation system has implemented various changes to the Booking Engine to achieve substantial conformance with the recommended ADA accessibility guidelines and performs manual reviews of the Booking Engine to continue staying up to date with the accessibility guidelines.
